In the sphere of mathematics students gain knowledge of fundamental mathematics focused on research, industrial, technological, organizational, management and teaching activities.
In recent years there occured new spheres of application of mathematics in great demand in the labour market, such as business analytics, logistics, financial and insurance mathematics, mathematical methods of image processing, analysis of information over the Internet. Chairs of our faculty take active part in development of these perspective areas, and students have an opportunity to major in them.
The aplied mathematics and computer science majors study mathematics and computer science focused on research, design, industrial, technological, organizational, management and pedagogical work related to use mathematics, programming, ICT and automated control systems. Alongside with fundamental education in mathematics students acquire skills of using modern database management systems, learn Internet technologies, modern programming languages, algorithms, libraries and software packages, products of system and applied software, are able to administer computer networks and use various operational systems, learn the art of modelling industrial, economic, and social processes, and become true programmers capable of solving the most complicated problems in development of algorithms and applied programs, including those for the Internet and mobile devices.
Students majoring in information systems and technologies learn to create and apply information systems for information gathering, transmission, processing, storage, protection and accumulation, their mathematical and information support and software, ways and methods of designing, debugging, production and operation of software of information systems in various industries. Students receive the most versatile knowledge of computer science at a high level.
Students majoring in business computer science take ñross-discipline courses of mathematics, economics, management, marketing, law and computer science. Except for fundamental disciplines, training also includes industrial architectural design, strategic planning of information systems (IS) development and ICT operations of business management, organization of processes of life cycles of IS and ICT business operations, methods and tools of creation and development of electronic enterprises and their components, analytical support of decision-making processes for business management, IS and ICT business management.
Upon successful completion of a Bachelor's program students may continue their education within a Master's program corresponding to any sphere close to the Bachelor's major.
