Faculty of Medicine

The faculty of medicine has three branches – general medicine (major 060101 "General Medicine"), pediatrics (major 060103 "Pediatrics") and pharmacy (major 060108 "Pharmacy").

Period of training at medical departmens makes 6 years. Upon graduating from the faculty diplomaed doctors obligatory take the one-year initial specialization (intership) in the speciality they choose, providing allowance to independent professional occupation with reception of the certificate of graduation from the internship. Doctors who have gradiated fromt the intership school and possessing work experience are offered training in clinical internship on the following specialities: obstetrics and gynecology, anesthesiology and reanimatology, gastroenterology, children's surgery, cardiology, clinical pharmacology, neurology, communicating medical practice, otolaryngology, pathological anatomy, pediatrics, psychiatry, pulmanology, radiology, cardiovascular surgery, therapy, traumatology and orthopedy, ultrasonic diagnostics, functional diagnostics, surgery with issuing of a certificate on graduation from the internship and the certificate of the expert.

For the speciality of "Pharmacy" (qualification "Pharmacist") apprenticeship is 5 years, and training by correspondence takes 5,5 years (on the basis of secondary professional profile education).

Graduates of the pharmacy department (both internal and correspondence) obligatory take the one-year initial specialization (intership) in the speciality of "pharmacy management and economy" upon which they are given a qualification of the "manager pharmacist".
