Faculty of Political and Social Sciences

The Faculty of Political and Social Sciences trains students in the following areas (4 years of apprenticeship):

• 031900.62 International Relations (with conferring the degree of the Bachelor in International Relations with foreign language skills (interpreter and translator, expert, information officer, executive secretary; international news reporter));
• 030200.62 Political Science (with conferring the degree of the Bachelor in Political Science);
• 040100.62 Social Science (with conferring the degree of the Bachelor in Social Science);
• 040400.62 Social Work (with conferring the degree of the Bachelor in Social Work).

Students majoring in International Relations (031900.62) take a 3000-hour course of English language and either French, or Swedish, or German as a second foreign language, they gain extensive knowledge of political theory, history of political and legal doctrines, world economy and international economic relations, modern foreign policy of the Russian Federation, process of foreign policy decision-making in the Russian Federation, world politics, global problems of modern times and steady development, international organizations, etc.

Students majoring in Political Science (030200.62) study history of political doctrines, theory of policy; political relations and political process in modern Russia; political image studies; state policy and management; political analysis and forecasting; political management; technologies of election campaigns; public relations, etc.

Students majoring in Social Science (040100.62) study such disciplines as general sociology, theory of measurement, methodology and methods of sociological research, public relations, economic and labour sociology, sociology of management, intercultural relations, sociology of family, etc.

The faculty also trains specialists in Social Work (040400.62). They study such disciplines as such disciplines as social policy; theory of social work; technology of social work; organization, management and administration in social work; social rehabilitation; social security; retirement security, etc.
