Personnel of the chair

The Chair of economics and production control has been founded in 1967 as a common chair. First, it was called a Chair of branch economies. When the Faculty of Economics was founded, the Chair of branch economies became its part. By the Decree N1100 of November 22, 2004 the Chair of branch economies was renamed into a Chair of economics and production control.

The Chair provides teaching of 41 economic disciplines at the Faculties of Economics, Forest Engineering, and Agriculture. About 2000 students are trained at the Chair annually.

Basic fields of scientific research accomplished at the chair

• Condition of timber industry of the frontier zone of the Republic of Karelia under the market economy conditions.
• Perfection of timber industry management in the RK.
• Analysis of food safety in the Republic of Karelia. Senior lecturer Nina Zababurova has collected and processed a great number of documents on the given problem.
• Definition of a design procedure of food safety.
• Development of thematic geoinformation resources of the base geoinformation system of the RK. Section "Formation of the system of statistics of the passport of municipal formation in the Republic of Karelia has been developed by senior instructor Zinaida Godoyeva.
