Meeting with teachers and researchers of University of Applied Sciences of North Carelia (Finland)

Meeting of lecturers of Petrozavodsk State University with teachers and researchers of University of Applied Sciences of North Carelia (Finland) was held on January 14.

Teachers of the Faculty of Agriculture: Head of the Chair of Chair of animal breeding, commodity research and provisions examination Professor, Anatoly Bolgov, Doctor of Agriculture, senior lecturer of the Chair A.Volkova, Ph.D., lecturers of the Chair M.Huobonen and S.Shalina, as well as teachers of the Faculty of Forest Engineering: Head of the Chair of Forest Engineering Viktor Riahin, Ph.D., and senior lecturer of the Chair G.Romanov, Ph.D., participated in the meeting. Within the scope of the visit ther has been held a meeting with experts of Forest Research Institute of Karelian Research Centre.

Matters at the international meeting in Petrozavodsk State University concerned carrying out of joint practical training sessions of students of PetrSU and University of Applied Sciences. The project of student teamwork is of important practical value for training: for example, they sample water, evaluate its quality, analyze and discuss results of research accumulating specific practical knowledge. Professor Anatoly Bolgov has proposed to carry out two stages of practical training in 2010: in territory of Karelia in Sortavala and in Finland to work in research laboratories. Participants of the meeting have also discussed time-frame of execution of works.

The project of joint practical training sessions is carried out within the scope of the First project directed on cooperation and strengthening of partner relations between educational establishments of Karelia and Finland regarding studying of profile disciplines. Within the scope of this project joint meetings, exchange of researches techniques and experience in the field of quality of water of natural reservoirs are being held, and opportunities in the sphere of academic mobility extend.
