On 15 February, 2007 the Directorate for international cooperation employees met with managers of the international centers of science and education of faculties of PetrSU.
The meeting was held to inform the PetrSU faculties and divisions about current and planned programs of the European Union in the field of education, science and development of technologies. Possible participation of PetrSU in international projects and programs was discussed.
Galina Parikhina, the Department of Exchange and Educational Programmes Head, presented participants of the meeting some information on participation of Russia in Bologna process. Reform of the Russian system of higher vocational training, is now aimed at transition to multilevel education system in order to make it correspond to all-European standards. Participants received information about course of Bologna process in Russia.
Alexander Berdino, the deputy head of Directorate for international cooperation, reported on current competition of project applications within the "Neighbourhood" program. Euroregio Karelia Neighbourhood Program is implemented in the territory of the Republic of Karelia and three regions of Finland: Norrbotten (Oulu region), provinces of Kainu and North Carelia. The next application deadline is March 15, 2007.
Vladimir Morozov, head of the Department of the international projects and programmes presented the meeting participants two European programs Tempus and Erasmus Mundus implementing projects in the field of education and science. First of them implements projects aimed at development and introduction of new educational programs (Masters' and Bachelors' degree), with accent on innovative approaches in education. Erasmus Mundus Program is an effective tool of academic mobility and enables representatives of Russian and European universities to visit foreign universities within the scope of exchange programs. Successful experience of PetrSU in preparation and submission of applications within Tempus program in December, 2006 was also presented.
