The head of the department for international cooperation L.Kulikovskaya has taken part in the Legislative regulations and practice of frontier cooperation in the Russian Federation, Byelorussia and the European Union International conference.
Organized by Information Office of Nordic Council of Ministers in St.Petersburg, Ministry of Regional Development of the RF, the conference was held in the Ministry of Regional Development, Moscow.
Halldór Asgrimsson, Secretary General of the Nordic Council of Ministers and Pedro Henriques, the Adviser of the Delegation of the European Commission to Russia welcomed the conference participants.
Representatives of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, representatives of Euroregions of Russia and Belarus, representatives of local and regional governments, representatives of Russian and European educational and research organizations have taken part in the conference.
During the conference tendencies of development of frontier cooperation in the EU, in the Northwest of Russia and Byelorussia; Russian and European legislation in the sphere of frontier cooperation, practice of frontier cooperation on the basis of examples from Russia and Byelorussia were considered.
PetrSU together with a number of universities of Finland works actively in two cross-border projects:
- Finnish-Russian Cross-Border University
- Finnish-Russian Barents Cross-Border University
Participants of the conference have emphasized huge importance of frontier cooperation and necessity of its further development.
