On May 7-8 rector of PetrSU Professor Anatoly Voronin has taken part in the international conference Innovations in the Baltic sea region - new tools for international cooperation held in Copenhagen at the support of the Nordic Council of Ministers, the Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems (VINNOVA), state structures of Denmark on business and construction, Innovation Norway company.
Organizers of the conference have defined two basic purposes:
- to present new national and European tools of innovative development of the Baltic region;
- to acquaint with methods of work and results of activity of the project BSR InnoNet, as with one of examples of successful transnational cooperation.
The key report of the conference was the report of the president of Japanese company Business Breakthrough, Inc., Kenichi Ohmae, Ph.D., devoted to issues of new economic geography, role of macroregions and prospects of the Baltic region.
After the plenary session participants worked in groups discussing aspects of cluster policy, cluster transnational cooperation, macroregional cooperation, cooperation of centers of science and innovations.
By the end of the conference participants voted to express their opinion on a number of issues discussed at the conference.
