Symposium on modern opportunities of enteral nutritionWithin the scope of the IX inter-regional workshop conference Nutritional Support and Fluid Therapy of Patients in Critical Care Medicine in Petrozavodsk State University there passed the symposium which subject was discussion of modern opportunities of enteral nutrition.

About such enteral nutrition and its opportunities used to support patients in critical care medicine there told experts: Professor from Switzerland Remi Meier, Professor Fredrik Lonnqvist (Royal University, the Netherlands), President of the Regional Northwest Association of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition Professor V.M.Luft, Head of the Chair of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine Professor A.P.Zilber, Head of the Chair of Anesthesiology and Resuscitation Science Professor E.V.Grigoriev (Kemerovo), etc.

Speakers have noted that lack of clinical feed today is observed at treatment of such diseases, as immunodeficiency, renal failure, oncological and respiratory diseases. Inability of the patient to receive amount of elements necessary for the organism independently corresponding to nutritious needs increases risk of death rate considerably.

Lecturers have told about use of high-calorific food and specialized clinical nutrition used to increase the receipt of nutrients that allows to avoid multiple organ failure and provides organism with the necessary amount of fiber, calories, macro- and micronutrients.

Combination of ready to use and balanced on structure specialized food in the diet improves results of treatment considerably, raises quality of life of patients, provides nutritional support on all stages of therapy.
