On September 1, 2009 student of the University of Bologna (Italy) Elvira Oliva has taken a test of Russian as a foreign language (TRFL-1) in the NEOU Testing Center of PetrSU.
Elvira Oliva was studying in PetrSU within the Erasmus Mundus program, in addition she was taking Russian language and has passed the examination with flying colors.
A week earlier another student from Italy has successfully passed the TRFL-2, the more complicated examination. Successful passing of exams testifies to communicative competence sufficient for implementation in social, cultural, educational and professional spheres.
The system of TRFL corresponds to levels of the all-European competence (AEC) and is recognized by the Association for Linguistic Testers in Europe (ALTE). In some countries of Europe, for example, in Germany and England, such Certificate increases chances to get a job and often is an obligatory document.
It is necessary to note, that people from other parts of the world are interested in the AEC testing.
In 2008-2009 academic year PetrSU student from Guan Jian, China, three students from the University of Suvong, South Korea, and one student from the USA have passed the testing successfully.
