Consul General of Greece in St.-Petersburg Mrs. Antonia Katzourou and Consul General of Cyprus in St.-Petersburg Mr. Antonis Sammoutis in PetrSU

Meeting with Consul General of Greece in St.-Petersburg Mrs. Antonia Katzourou and Consul General of Cyprus in St.-Petersburg Mr. Antonis Sammoutis was held in Petrozavodsk Sate University on September 21, 2009.

President of PetrSU Victor Vasiliev, Head of Directorate for International Cooperation of PetrSU Lyudmila Kulikovskaya, Dean of the Faculty of Philology Andrey Kunilsky, Head of the Chair of Classic Philology Tatyana Malchukova have participated in the meeting.

Head of the Chair of Classic Philology Tatyana Malchukova has told about work of her Chair having pointed out great interest of students of the faculty in studying classic languages. According to Tatyana Malchukova, Russian culture is a 'daughter' of Greek culture which has many examples: Russian architecture, religious paintings, literature, Russian language - all of them originate from the Greek culture.

Representatives of the Greek delegation have noted great work accomplished by the Chair of Classic Philology, discussed the opportunity of academic exchanges, and expressed readiness to support the Chair and hope for further cooperation.
