One-day ecological workshop on the subject of Modern Technologies of Sewage Treatment on Small Objects was organized by the University of Oulu in jointly with the Chair of water-supply, gidraulics and water drain of the Faculty of Industrial and Civil Engineering of PetrSU.
The workshop took place within the scope of BERMAP Cooperation in Spheres of Business, Education and Research between establishments of North Finland and Northwest of Russia project. Its purpose was acquainting its participants with modern technologies of sewage treatment, and introducing main principles of choosing sewage treatment units used on small objects.
Experts of such enterprises as Wavin-Labko Oy, Pipelife Finland Oy and Kimira Eko company participated in the workshop, having presented their solutions in the field of sewage treatment. Director of NorTech Oulu project division Risto Hiljanen (University of Oulu) and Head of the Chair, Professor Renat Ayukaev (PetrSU) presided at the workshop.
In his greeting Risto Hiljanen told about three-year cooperation between the University of Oulu and PetrSU, having pointed out the tendency of rapproachement between enterprises of the two countries.

Representatives of companies told about theirproduction in the market of waste treatment technologies. Their reports and slide-show arouse interest of the Karelian representatives, they set many questions: about influence of northern climate on treatment systems, about sanitary-protective zones, operating costs, training of technicians and other aspects of successful functioning of Finnish technologies in Russia.
