• Pivoev Vasiliy Mikhailovich was born on July 4, the birthplace - Republic of Karelia, Russia;
• base formation - historian- philological faculty Petrozavodsk university in 1974;
• post-graduate course at philosophical faculty of Leningrad university, candidate dissertation on an aesthetics on a theme "Irony as the aesthetic category" is protected in 1981;
• in 1985-1995 years worked by the senior teacher, senior lecturer, professor, the head of the department of philosophy Petrozavodsk conservatory, since 1995 - the professor, the head of the department of culturology of Petrozavodsk university.
• The doctor's dissertation on a theme "Mythological consciousness as the way of development of the world" on a speciality "social philosophy" has protected in 1993 in Institute of philosophy of RAS.
• The deserved figure of a science of Republic Kareliya, valid member of Academy of humanitarian sciences.
• The basic ideas:

1) concepts of irony as aesthetic value and form comical of the relation described by three-scheduled structure of expression, ambivalents and two-orientation;
2) concepts of occurrence mythological consciousness and myths in conditions of ancient "night" consciousness as way of development of the world and means of reassuring of the person concerning prospects of his existence;
3) roles and place mythology (as systems of values expressed in the symbolical form) in a history of culture;
4) axilologic as value logic of imagination and mythcreations;
5) concepts of reason as unities "rational" and "irrational";
6) interactions of "day time" and "night" consciousness in culture;
7) forecasts of change values paradigms on a boundary XX-XXI cc.
