The Trade Union organization of employees of Petrozavodsk state university is the one of the associations of the Russian Federation Trade Union national education and science organization, consisting of the employees of PetrSU.

The basis of the structure of the trade-union organization of employees of PetrSU are the trade-union groups formed at the faculties, chairs, in laboratories and other industrial groups. Trade-union groups can be united in the trade-union organizations of divisions. The trade-union organizations of divisions of PetrSU are included into the structure of the trade-union organization of employees of PetrSU.

Primary goals of the trade-union organization of employees of PetrSU are:

• protecting professional, labour, social and economic rights and interests of members of the PetrSU Trade Union
• associating efforts and coordinating actions of members of the Trade Union of the trade-union organization of employees of PetrSU for achievement of overall aims of the Trade Union,
• providing members of the Trade Union of the trade-union organization of employees of PetrSU with legal and social protection.

The trade-union organization of employees of Petrozavodsk state university:

• negotiates with administration of PetrSU,
• concludes collective contracts and promotes their realization,
• renders the legal, material, advisory help to the members of the Trade Union,
• carries out public control over observance of the labour legislation, rules and norms of a labour safety in the relation to the members of the Trade Union,
• represents interests of the members of the Trade Union (under their requirement) by consideration of individual disputes,
• participates in settling collective labour disputes (conflicts) according to the current legislation.

The supreme body of the trade-union organization of employees of PetrSU is the conference

For conducting the current work the trade-union assembly (conference) elects:

• the trade-union group organizer and his(her) assistant - in trade-union groups,
• the trade-union bureau, the chairman and the vice-president of a trade-union bureau - in the trade-union organizations of structural divisions of the university,
• trade-union committee, the chairman (vice-president) - in the trade-union organization of employees of PetrSU.

In the trade-union organization of employees of PetrSU the Council of chairmen of the trade-union organizations of structural divisions is created.
